Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch) 1st Years Syllabus

  • Clinical exposure with bed responsibilities (MCH 101)
  • 1st on call duties for in-patients (MCH 102)
  • Exposure to intensive care and artificial respiratory support with ventilators (MCH 103)
  • Academic work – Journal Club/Topic discussion (MCH 104)
  • Protocol submission for research projects (MCH 105)
  • Monthly audit presentations (MCH 106)
  • Surgical work – mainly as an assistant in all surgical procedures-emergency (MCH 107)

 

M. Ch 2nd Years

  • Ward responsibilities + out patients (supervision of 1st year residents) (MCH 201)
  • Project work (MCH 202)
  • Assist and perform emergency and elective operations under supervision (MCH 203)
  • Academic presentation – case presentation/journal clubs/ seminars (MCH 204)
  • Encouraged to attend and present research paper in conferences (MCH 205)

Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch) 3rd Years Syllabus

SUBJECTS with PAPER CODE :-

  • Ward responsibilities similar to 2nd year + out patients (supervision of Ist year) (MCH 301)
  • Emphasis on completion of projects/data analysis (MCH 302)
  • Academic work -as before with more emphasis on intra department clinical case presentations (MCH 303)
  • Expected to perform major abdominal operations independently (MCH 304)

As a general rule, the Master of Chirurgiae (M. Ch) program includes lectures, projects, exams, internships, Viva, and assignments. It is a 3-year course with 2 semesters per year and a total of 6 semesters for the entire course.
